‘Fashion’ by Mitchell Oakley Smith – take a leaf out of this book launch
Mitchell Oakley Smith author of ‘Fashion: Australian & New Zealand Designers’ saw over 200 of Australia’s fashion set cram the Iain Dawson Gallery to celebrate the release of his fashion bible. The term ‘take a leaf out of his book’ sprang to mind as the pages of ‘Fashion’ were pasted around the walls of the gallery making the perusal of the manual and it’s photography a lot easier in the crush.
‘Fashion’ features profiles of 70 of Australian and New Zealand fashion designers and Mitchell believes it’s the first of it’s kind to be published since 1983.
Amongst the interestingly clad guests were several of the subjects in the book including Romance Was Born, Jonathan Ward, Aurelio Costarella, Ginger & Smart, Fernando Frisoni, Marnie Skillings, Ksubi, Chronicles of Never and Nicola Finetti.
