‘The Hermans – Art in the Family’ and Fairlie Kingston’s ’To The Lighthouse’ combined Exhibition opening at Manly Art Gallery
You just never know who is going to turn up at an art gallery exhibition opening. Manly Art Gallerys opening night for The Herman Family’s exhibition held in conjunction with Fairlie Kingston’s ceramic lighthouses bougth out a large and very interesting crowd.
Amongst the throng were none other than film icon George Miller, colourful local Warringah identity Gretel Pinniger along with Wendy Harmer, writer, radio and television show host and comedienne.
Even Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO our wonderful hardworking Govenor of NSW made a surprise visit to open the show. Now we know for a fact the Govenor was at the Military Tattoo the previous night and didn’t get home till very late and was back on duties by 8.30am on this morning. Then she turned up here without any pomp or fanfare in her role as one of our greatest supporters of the arts – onya Marie – let’s hope you do another term.
‘The Hermans – Art in the Family’ and Fairlie Kingston’s ’To The Lighthouse’ combined Exhibition at Manly Art Gallery and Museum runs until 7 March 2010
