The silky smooth charismatic Hollywood heart throb George Clooney (the face of Nespresso) may have been missing from the suburb of Waterloo last night but the sleek, stylishly smooth Lattissima was on display as a reasonable substitute for the man himself …. hmm George would have been nice too. But the especially concocted cocktails on offer (espresso coffee & vodka) helped ease the pain a little particularly when washed down with the Deutz bubbles.

Sydney is the latest outlet of almost 200 stores world wide distributing a new coffee experience for connoisseurs of the bean. Nespresso and Lattissima have joined forces to create a domestic coffee partnership that will bring real (yes real) coffee into the homes and offices of Sydney. A compact and stylish coffee maker that’s easy to use with it’s one touch operation and removable milk canister (just pop it in the fridge till next time). Jade and the crew from Torstar, the event organisers for the night, did an excellent job of meeting and greeting but they also put themselves around the room to ensure everyone’s needs were being catered for.
Waterloo is set to become the new design and arts precinct of Sydney and the new function facility within the PYD complex (the name derives from the streets that bound it: Phillip, Young, Danks) certainly oozes today’s design and is a great space. www.pyd.com.au
