Mountainous snow blizzard hits Sydney
The invite for MiSociety to attend the Premier of ‘The Alps’ at the Imax Theatre told us it was a ‘mountain climbing’ movie so we weren’t surprised to have snow fall on us for the second time in a week in Sydney. The Imax Theatre was decked out in it’s best snow gear with the star of the film, John Harlin III catching snowflakes.
Mountain climbing movie – yep it is that and the tale of John Harlin III’s conquering of ‘The Eiger’ in Switzerland that also laid to rest his demons from the past that centred around the death of his father on the very same mountain.
‘The Alps’ is a powerful and emotional journey, BUT, it is also an extraordinarily filmed piece of visual excitement tha portrays some of the most stunning mountain vistas ever captured on film.
The film is truly ‘awesome’ with the sheer majesty of the Swiss Alps bought into it’s full context right there in front of you on the largest ‘big screen’ in the world .
If you opt to see only one documentary on a cinema screen this year – make ‘The Alps’ it. Don’t miss!
