A posse of approximately 500 ‘invitation only’ guests descended on the estate of Mr & Mrs Peter and Rebecca Higgins at the weekend to watch the final six teams battle it out for the 2008 Bentley Cup. And we can tell you they travelled there in style. The carpark was jam packed full of Bentleys, ‘Rollers’, Porches, Mercs and Range Rovers.
After hiding our humble car behind a tree we moseyed into the mass of ‘elegantly casual’ and ‘country’ clad polo enthusiasts and stood in awe at this magnificent property that is, the Sydney Polo Country Club.
The day was a tribute to the many companies and organisations that contributed resources and services for a day of exciting polo, fine food, wine, drinks and the outrageous fun of the celebrity peddle powered ponies polo match. What a hoot! The two wheeled teams rollocked around the paddock all in the spirit of good fun. Who won? Who knows!
Celebrities who swung the mallet for the Global luxury lifestyle management service ‘Quintessentially’ crowd and who helped raise funds included cricketer Stuart McGill, Foxtel celebrity Charlotte Dawson, model Jaime Wright, comedienne Vince Sorrenti, McLeod’s Daughters Zoe Naylor, Allsaints star Tammy McIntosh and ex Olympian swimmer Mark Tonelli.
A great day of fun and frolic to aid a very serious 120 year old charity, Barnardos Australia, that assists over 8,000 kids, young people and their families annually.
